According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 3 U.S. states that added the highest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Total Private industry in March, 2004 were:

  1. California: 96,300
  2. New York: 66,000
  3. Florida: 63,300

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Total Private industry in March, 2004 were:

  1. Vermont: 600
  2. South Dakota: 1,600
  3. Wyoming: 1,900
