According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2016:
- California: 44,700
- Florida: 22,900
- Arizona: 17,400
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2016:
- New York: -18,300
- New Jersey: -7,500
- Massachusetts: -7,100
