According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2016:
- California: 88,700
- Massachusetts: 32,300
- Colorado: 20,100
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2016:
- Michigan: -20,200
- New Jersey: -8,600
- Connecticut: -5,500
