California: 126,100
New York: 63,800
Michigan: 61,800

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Total Private industry in May, 2021 were:

District of Columbia: -1,300
Arkansas: 4,200
Mississippi: 4,300
