According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2003:

  1. Texas: 15,100
  2. California: 8,200
  3. Florida: 5,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2003:

  1. New Jersey: -2,300
  2. Connecticut: -1,100
  3. Massachusetts: -900
