According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2009:

  1. New York: 18,300
  2. New Jersey: 9,600
  3. Michigan: 9,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2009:

  1. Florida: -2,900
  2. Arizona: -1,300
  3. Arkansas: -500
