According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. California: 9,900
  2. New York: 5,300
  3. Illinois: 3,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. New Jersey: -2,300
  2. North Carolina: -1,200
