According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2008:

  1. New York: 14,500
  2. New Jersey: 6,900
  3. Massachusetts: 5,200
