According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 3 U.S. states that added the highest seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry in January, 2006 were:

  1. Texas: 4,800
  2. Tennessee: 3,500
  3. Illinois: 2,600

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry in January, 2006 were:

  1. Michigan: -3,400
  2. California: -2,900
  3. New Hampshire: -1,500
