According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 3 U.S. states that added the highest seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Total Private industry in February, 2009 were:

  1. Alaska: 400
  2. North Dakota: 400
  3. Michigan: 300

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Total Private industry in February, 2009 were:

  1. California: -128,400
  2. Texas: -59,400
  3. Florida: -53,000
