According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in January, 2021, North Carolina added the highest number of jobs to the federal government general merchandise stores industry (45), followed by Alaska (39), and Illinois (5).

On the other hand, Texas added the least number of jobs (-106), followed by California (-80), and Virginia (-43).
