According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in September, 2020, Massachusetts added the highest number of jobs to the local government executive, legislative and general government industry (1,261), followed by California (528), and Virginia (519).

On the other hand, Wisconsin added the least number of jobs (-7,749), followed by New York (-6,407), and Michigan (-5,097).
