According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in July, 2019, New Mexico added the highest number of jobs to the private mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction industry (438), followed by Montana (195), and Arizona (129).

On the other hand, Texas added the least number of jobs (-1,564), followed by Oklahoma (-1,430), and Wyoming (-519).
