According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in August, 2020, West Virginia added the highest number of jobs to the private oil and gas extraction industry (39), followed by Illinois (17), and Alaska (7).

On the other hand, Texas added the least number of jobs (-578), followed by Pennsylvania (-197), and Colorado (-124).
