According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in January, 2020, South Carolina added the highest number of jobs to the private oil and gas extraction industry (), followed by New Mexico (128), and Pennsylvania (95).

On the other hand, Texas added the least number of jobs (-1,130), followed by Oklahoma (-1,027), and Montana (-106).
