According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May, 2020, California added the highest number of jobs to the private motion picture and sound recording industries industry (8,064), followed by Hawaii (972), and Louisiana (628).

On the other hand, New York added the least number of jobs (-2,977), followed by Maryland (-462), and Georgia (-316).
