According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alabama was 11.1% (sa) in December, 2009. Among all Alabama counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Wilcox (25.3%), Monroe (20.1%), and Conecuh (19.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Shelby (7.7%), Madison (7.9%), and Coffee (8.2%).
