According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 6.5% (sa) in March, 2004. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Colusa (18.7%), Plumas (15.1%), and Imperial (14.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Orange (4.7%), Mono (4.7%), and San Luis Obispo (4.9%).
