According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 11.9% (sa) in August, 2011. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Imperial (32.3%), Merced (17%), and Tulare (16.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Marin (7.6%), San Mateo (7.8%), and San Francisco (8.4%).
