According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Florida was 4.8% (sa) in September, 2002. Among all Florida counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Hendry (10.6%), Hardee (8.7%), and DeSoto (7.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Union (3.4%), Monroe (3.5%), and Alachua (3.5%).
