According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Georgia was 10.8% (sa) in December, 2009. Among all Georgia counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Hancock (23.8%), Atkinson (21.2%), and Jenkins (20.8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Oconee (6.6%), Columbia (7%), and Long (7.2%).
