According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Illinois was 9.8% (sa) in April, 2009. Among all Illinois counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Boone (14%), Winnebago (13.8%), and Putnam (13.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Brown (4.2%), Schuyler (6.1%), and Jackson (6.3%).
