According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Indiana was 10.7% (sa) in August, 2009. Among all Indiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Elkhart (17.5%), Noble (17%), and LaGrange (16.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Daviess (6.2%), Monroe (6.5%), and Martin (6.6%).
