According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Indiana was 9% (sa) in January, 2009. Among all Indiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Elkhart (19.8%), LaGrange (19.5%), and Noble (18.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hamilton (6%), Daviess (6%), and Monroe (6.2%).
