According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Indiana was 10.8% (sa) in May, 2009. Among all Indiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Howard (19.5%), Elkhart (18.8%), and Noble (18.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Daviess (5.8%), Monroe (6.6%), and Hamilton (6.8%).
