According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Iowa was 6.5% (sa) in April, 2009. Among all Iowa counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Page (10.8%), Allamakee (10.4%), and Hancock (10%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Shelby (3.5%), Johnson (3.8%), and Mills (3.9%).
