According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Iowa was 6.6% (sa) in August, 2009. Among all Iowa counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Lee (10.6%), Mahaska (10.5%), and Davis (10%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Harrison (3.8%), Shelby (3.9%), and Mills (4.1%).
