According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Louisiana was 7% (sa) in August, 2009. Among all Louisiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): West Carroll (16.1%), Morehouse (15.4%), and Tensas (13.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Lafourche (5%), Terrebonne (5.3%), and St. Tammany (5.8%).
