According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.8% (sa) in December, 2003. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (17.3%), Montmorency (13.2%), and Cheboygan (12.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (3.5%), Clinton (4.1%), and Livingston (4.3%).
