According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.8% (sa) in February, 2003. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (19.9%), Cheboygan (17.6%), and Presque Isle (17%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (3.8%), Clinton (4.7%), and Eaton (4.8%).
