According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.7% (sa) in January, 2004. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (20.7%), Cheboygan (16.6%), and Presque Isle (15.5%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.1%), Livingston (5%), and Clinton (5.1%).
