According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.7% (sa) in December, 2005. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (17.6%), Montmorency (13.8%), and Presque Isle (13.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.2%), Menominee (4.7%), and Kalamazoo (4.9%).
