According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.1% (sa) in February, 2005. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (22.7%), Presque Isle (18.2%), and Cheboygan (16.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.6%), Cass (5.5%), and Kalamazoo (5.6%).
