According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.1% (sa) in June, 2006. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Montcalm (14.4%), Baraga (10.4%), and Clare (10.2%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (3.7%), Leelanau (4.5%), and Washtenaw (5.2%).
