According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.9% (sa) in March, 2006. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (20.7%), Presque Isle (17.7%), and Cheboygan (16.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.9%), Kalamazoo (5.4%), and Ottawa (5.7%).
