According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.3% (sa) in September, 2007. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (12.1%), Montmorency (10.9%), and Montcalm (10.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (3.8%), Leelanau (4.8%), and Eaton (5%).
