According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 10.1% (sa) in December, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (22.4%), Baraga (18.7%), and Montmorency (18.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (6.3%), Isabella (6.7%), and Clinton (6.7%).
