According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.2% (sa) in February, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (23%), Presque Isle (19.2%), and Cheboygan (17.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.8%), Kalamazoo (5.4%), and Eaton (5.6%).
