According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.9% (sa) in June, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (12%), Montmorency (11.6%), and Montcalm (11.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (4.9%), Leelanau (5.4%), and Menominee (5.9%).
