According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.3% (sa) in March, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (22.6%), Presque Isle (18.7%), and Cheboygan (17.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (5%), Kalamazoo (5.4%), and Eaton (5.6%).
