According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 9.6% (sa) in November, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (17.4%), Montmorency (16.2%), and Baraga (15.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (5.6%), Isabella (5.8%), and Clinton (5.9%).
