According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 9.1% (sa) in October, 2008. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (13.3%), Oscoda (13.1%), and Montmorency (13%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Leelanau (5.6%), Isabella (5.6%), and Clinton (5.6%).
