According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 11.8% (sa) in February, 2009. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (27.3%), Baraga (24.1%), and Presque Isle (23.5%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (7.4%), Isabella (8.2%), and Midland (8.8%).
