According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 14% (sa) in June, 2009. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (24.6%), Oscoda (20.3%), and Hillsdale (19%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (6.4%), Leelanau (8.9%), and Cheboygan (9.6%).
