According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 13.5% (sa) in October, 2009. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (22.5%), Montmorency (19%), and Oscoda (18.8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (7.2%), Washtenaw (8.3%), and Isabella (8.4%).
