According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 6.2% (sa) in March, 2004. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Bronx (10.2%), Hamilton (9.8%), and Jefferson (9.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Putnam (4.4%), Tompkins (4.6%), and Saratoga (4.7%).
