According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 4.9% (sa) in April, 2008. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Hamilton (8.4%), Essex (7%), and Franklin (6.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Tompkins (3.1%), Putnam (3.6%), and Westchester (3.8%).
