According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 8.7% (sa) in August, 2009. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Bronx (12.9%), Kings (10.7%), and St. Lawrence (9.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hamilton (4.4%), Saratoga (6.1%), and Yates (6.5%).
