According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 7.5% (sa) in February, 2009. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Lewis (11.7%), Oswego (11.1%), and Schoharie (11.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Tompkins (5.9%), Putnam (6.7%), and Rockland (6.8%).
