According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Texas was 5.9% (sa) in August, 2004. Among all Texas counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Presidio (14.9%), Zavala (12.4%), and Starr (11.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Sutton (2.8%), Sterling (2.8%), and Reagan (2.9%).
